Each Juvederm® treatment is designed for its own particular purpose and works by adding volume to your skin to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and deep folds. Juvederm® can also be used to sculpt and define your lips, cheeks, jawline and more. The Juvederm® technology allows facial fillers to blend with the tissue under the skin to keep you looking like you, whether you’re smiling, laughing or frowning. During consultation, Dr. Hynes will examine your face in a variety of movements to ensure the best result possible.

Who is a candidate?

The Juvederm® treatment is for males and females from 18 to 65 years of age and is safe for all skin tones. This is a very effective treatment for those individuals who want to improve their overall appearance, augment their lips, reduce wrinkles, and slow down the effects of aging. Dr. Hynes will take the time to evaluate your face to come up with the right treatment plan just for you.

How are Juvederm® treatments performed?

Juvederm® is a soft, replenishing, injectable gel, also made from hyaluronic acid (which is a naturally occurring sugar found in your body). When you are ready, your treatment areas will be sanitized to prepare them for the injections. Each injection is short, lasting only a few seconds and the amount used will be dependent on your main treatment objective. The treatment technique will also vary depending on what you are looking to achieve.

Juvederm® dermal fillers include the anaesthetic lidocaine, which can help reduce any discomfort you may feel during the treatment.

What is the recovery period like?

You will be able to see your natural-looking results shortly after the treatment. There may be some swelling and redness at the injection points, but most people can return to their normal routine on the same day, depending on the level of treatment received.

Our nurse injector may wish to schedule a follow-up appointment a couple of weeks after your treatment date, simply to check-in and make sure you are happy with the results. This is a great opportunity to make sure you are completely satisfied with your treatment.

What are the risks?

Potential side effects associated with Juvederm® products may include temporary injection-site reactions such as: redness, swelling, itching, bruising, and/or discolouration. These reactions may occur immediately or may be delayed and can last for up to a week. This is not a complete list of side effects. If inflammatory reactions persist for more than one week, or if any other side effects develop, seek medical attention as soon as possible.
